Response Media Launches First-Ever Carbon Neutral Email Service

This is the World’s First Carbon Neutral Email Marketing Solution,
Offering Clients the Ability to Offset Emissions from All Their Outbound Marketing Emails

JUNE 30, 2022 (ATLANTA, GA) – Response Media, an Atlanta-based independent, data-led digital marketing agency, today announces the launch of the first Carbon Neutral Email marketing solution ever offered. This service allows a brand or company to offset the carbon produced by every marketing email they send, making each campaign fully carbon neutral.
Response Media is the first and only agency globally to offer carbon offsets on marketing emails. Working in conjunction with a leading environmental technology company to analyze and offset each campaign, this service will offset the carbon produced by email production, deployment, and storage, allowing the agency to help clients extend their sustainability impact all the way back to customer communications.

Unknown to most, emails do leave a carbon footprint. Due to energy used by sending and storing email, basic calculations show text-based emails emit about 4 grams of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent), though ones with attachments can emit 19 grams. Sending 65 emails is equivalent to driving a mile in an average combustion engine car.

“When we thought about how marketers can be more responsible and support environmental sustainability, we thought about the things we do each day. Although email is markedly more environmentally friendly than postal mail, it still uses energy. We are thrilled to be the first agency ever to offer our clients this unique opportunity of adding email offsets to their sustainability efforts to increase their positive environmental impact.” said Josh Perlstein, CEO of Response Media. “We know that 3 out of 4 Americans would switch brands if they were more environmentally responsible. The launch of our Carbon Neutral Email service now gives us unmatched abilities to develop carbon-neutral email marketing campaigns for clients to quickly and easily support a healthier planet, while also making their customers happier.”

The number of emails sent and received globally has increased each year since 2017. Research shows roughly 306.4 billion emails were estimated to have been sent and received each day in 2020; this figure is expected to increase to over 376.4 billion daily emails by 2025. This translates to driving approximately 5.65 billion miles every day.

“We know that 3 out of 4 Americans would switch brands if they were more environmentally responsible.”

Response Media now can help clients looking to increase their sustainability practices and decrease their overall carbon emissions footprint. The Carbon Neutral email marketing solution can be implemented for any and all types of clients across all industries.
